![]() :imoĮDIT - I looked around and found info on the GM pins - shortest pin is 2.59" and the longest is 2.71" with an error margin of 0.01". Oh yes, I believe if you can get an actual F-bod/Vette spring setup in the servo or the stiffer one from TransGo that is used to go in the intermediate (2nd) servo that'll firm up the 2-3 shift. The piece was an additional 1/4" or so as I recollect. I think they have no stripes/bands on the collar by the point where it actually engauges the band's anchor.įYI - my billet intermediate servo came with a tip that goes on the end of the OE pin to extend it, I tried it and it was WAY too long. Whether it is C4/C6, 727/48RE, 200-4R or 4L60/E, they all have a servo piston release area that is larger than the apply area, so the release of the servo is hydraulically powered ( Figure 1 ). A survey of common transmissions confirms this. These servo upgrades are the best changes you can make to your 700R4, 4L60E, 4L65E, or 4L70E automatic transmission. This billet OD servo can be combined with the Corvette servo for even greater performance. If I recall, one of the 700R4 pins is the longest. In both instances, the servo is released by hydraulic power and does not rely on the spring. This servo is a must for any performance, towing, RV, or off-road transmission, but would be a nice upgrade for any 700-R4 or 4L60E. Like where you'd have a brief moment between the release of the 3-4 pack and the apply of the 2-4 band. Phoenix Transmission Parts 4L60E 700R4 Corvette Servo Piston Kit for 2+4 Band FITS GM 79 S29. Caused his first 60E failure.ġ/4" is on the sloppy side. ![]() If it's too tight, the 2-4 band will drag and burn up. The 4L60E transmission was rebuilt with a Beast sunshell gear, Raybestos clutches, Corvette servo, and a stage two shift Above: The 1966 Mustang is a. like it'd create drag when it would downshift. ![]()
